Brian Baynes..
Just want to say what a pleasure it was working in the studio in San Diego with my old friend Brian Baynes..he is a wonderful guitarist / engineer / producer and did a great job with "Red Hammock"..this is maybe the best recording I've done to date and I hope it gets some airplay in Ireland.
Brian is also off the wall funny which helps..can't function without his tea.
So I guess I'm doomed to spend the rest of my life here in Holbrook..least I had a chance to catch up with some updates etc.. Bill Dec 2006 Holbrook Arizona.
Stuck in Hole (Holbrook)
Hi All ,Ah the pleasures of the wandering musician..I left Phoenix, Monday morning with plan? of making it to Oklahoma..by late in the evening..Eventually getting back to Toronto by Wed eve..well some things are just not meant to be. My radiator blew up on interstate 40 east just outside Holbrook (pop 4000) Arizona...this is a small town up in the high desert (elevation 6000 ft)...I had it towed into town..fixed??and left the next morning (had to wait for parts)..got to the same spot on I40 east and it blew up again..had it towed into town and it's now Wed aft and still (waiting for parts) not fixed..I've got to know this little place quite well and believe me ..not much happen'n here. One small restaurant of ??Quality and 2 funky hotels ..I've stayed in both now..had to sleep in my clothes including hat gloves..almost no heat..first one had no hot water.
These are small things we all take for granted..but you sure miss them..
So here I am and will have to stay...I hope not too much longer..I still have 2000 miles to drive...see what a cool life I have...To all try to stay warm and to my friend Susan ..Get well soon..Merry Jolly Happy..there I feel better already..Bill Dec 2006...ps. update now it's Thursday and I'm still here..this IS the twilight zone.
